What is Camp de Mar Like?

Camp de Mar lies on the Mediterranean Sea and has clear water and beautiful fine-grained sand. It is a must for sun worshippers who want to experience a true gem in the crown of Mallorca. The beach is generally suitable for those with reduced mobility as it is a flat sandy beach.

Location

The town of Camp de Mar sits between Port d’Andratx and Peguera, and the town’s population grows from 8,000 to 30,000 in the summer months, so the beach gets busy.

As the beach is nestled in a bay, complete with pine trees, there is a welcome relief from waves and any strong winds, making this beach ideal for long, relaxing swims or a boat trip with friends.

Restaurants, Bars & Facilities

In front of the beach lies a small island which you can easily swim to, or there’s a wooden bridge which you can cross to get to the island.

Here, you’ll find the hugely popular Restaurante Illeta, which has an extensive menu of Spanish classics, including paella and a host of fresh seafood. Complete with air conditioning, the restaurant is open until late, so you can choose to dine here during the day or relax under the stars with a glass of wine.

Lifeguard & Water Sport

Camp de Mar had lifeguards in attendance and a host of facilities, including showers, umbrellas, sunbeds and toilets.

There are many activities for visitors to participate in on this beautiful beach. You and your family can rent pedal boats where you can take in the views from the water, or you might feel adventurous and decide to snorkel to the small island that is nestled in front of the beach.

Is Camp de Mar Family-friendly?

The beach at Camp de Mar is family-friendly, making it the perfect place to bring the kids for a fun-filled day by the sea. The water is shallow, and waves are not a common occurrence, but come the summer months, the beach can get crowded, meaning that there may be limited room for playing on the beach.

Where to Park at Camp de Mar

The town has ample parking, with just a short walk to the beach required. Finding a space in July and August might prove more difficult than other times of the year, so getting to the town early in the day is highly recommended.

Other Nearby Beaches

There aren’t any other beaches in the immediate area. But, you will be able to find lots of unspoiled and usually much quieter bays rather than sandy beaches just a stone’s throw away from the beach where you get an unparalleled sea view.

If the crowds get a bit too much come the high season, these bays are definitely the place to be for some solitude and well-earned me time.

Nearby Hotels & Resorts

The Grupotel Playa Camp de Maris is one of the area’s most popular and well-recommended hotels. Complete with stunning views of the beach, there is a host of activities and evening entertainment to look forward to.

There’s also a buffet breakfast to set you up for a busy day of fun and amazing dinners in the evening, or again, you could choose the buffet restaurant for supper. Or, if you would rather, you could relax in the pool bar or hit the lounge bar for a chilled-out drink or two.
