What is Coll Baix Like?

Es Coll Baix is a virgin beach that is relatively large but tricky to get to and is only accessible by foot. It is covered by coarse sand and pebbles and offers great access to the Mediterranean sea. This is the perfect beach for nature lovers who don’t mind walking.

Location

After parking your car, you will have to walk for about 45 minutes to get to Es Coll Baix. If you don’t mind hiking, the small path will lead you to the beach.

Good shoes are recommended for the rocky path. Flip-flops are definitely not appropriate footwear.

Alternatively, you can take a glass-bottom boat trip from nearby Alcudia, which stops in the bay and allows you to get off and swim.

Restaurants, Bars & Facilities

There are no bars or restaurants nearby. The toilet is on the path before a steep decline down to the beach, so it is wise to make use of the facilities before heading down.

Lifeguard & Watersports

No water sports facilities or lifeguards are on duty at Es Coll Baix.

Where to Park at Coll Baix

There is a car park at the start of the path to the beach. The car park is free, but the road to it is not the best.

Other Nearby Beaches

Coll Baix has a number of great beaches nearby. To the south, you will find Playa de Muro, Es Comu, Can Picafort, and Son Baulo. To the west of Coll Baix is Mal Pas and Morer Vermell.

These are just some of the excellent beaches you can visit in the northeast of Mallorca.

Nearby Hotels & Resorts

There are no hotels or resorts at the beach. However, there is a wide choice of excellent hotels and resorts along the island’s north coast.

Alcudia and Port de Pollenca offer an excellent range of hotels to choose from. Great luxury, budget, and boutique hotels suit all travellers.

Port de Pollenca is a quieter option but still offers an excellent selection of hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops.
