What is Ca’n Picafort Beach Like?

The beach on this coastal resort comprises soft, fine, white sand, and the water is considered relatively shallow, making it a good option for visitors of all ages to have a splash or swim in.

Location

Ca’n Picafort is situated in Alcúdia bay on the north coast of Mallorca, just 10 kilometres from Port d’Alcúdia.

Until the 1960s, the town was a quiet, unassuming small fishing village with only a couple of hundred residents, but that soon changed when an influx of German visitors would regularly make the town their holiday destination of choice.

Today, the town is one of the hottest holiday spots for tourists all over the world. Packed with shops, resultants and clubs, it’s one location that proves very popular all year round.

Is Ca’n Picafort Family-friendly?

There are lots to keep the kids busy at C’an Picafort beach, and while the water is shallow, there are places nearby where the water depth is even more suited to young kids. There have been instances of waves at the beach, but usually, this isn’t an issue.

However, during the warmer months, the beach becomes very busy, so there may not always be room for the kids to run around and stretch their legs.

Other Nearby Beaches

Ca’n Picafort beach can get very busy in the summer months, so it’s advisable that, if you are planning a journey to the beach, you set off early to ensure you get a parking space and a spot on the beach.

There are, however, other nearby resorts away from the main beach at Ca’n Picafort. A few kilometres away is Puerto Alcudia or Playa de Muro, which are surrounded by sand dunes. Or, if you prefer, there’s Son Serra de Marina beach, which is also close by and makes the perfect location for horse riding.
